Silent auction during Possum Point Players’ The Trial of Ebenezer Scrooge supports theatre

Dear friends of Possum Point Players …

We hope this letter finds you healthy and in warm spirits as we approach the holiday season. Yes, the holidays and Possum Point Players’ production of The Trial of Ebenezer Scrooge are just around the corner. Again this year, we will be holding our Annual Silent Auction to support the theatre. There will be two separate auctions, one for each weekend of the show.

The first auction will be held on Dec. 4, 5 and 6.

The second auction will be held on Dec. 11, 12 and 13. Those attending the show on either Friday or Saturday may leave a maximum final bid with one of the auction volunteers.

The bids left with the volunteers will be incrementally increased as needed.  At the end of the Sunday shows, all winners will be notified.

Our larger items will be showcased on our PPP website and be available for online bidding.  Successful bidders will be announced at the close of the show, Sunday, December 13.

Baskets are a very popular item!  If you are unable to donate a completed basket, please consider donating items that we may use in combination with like items to create custom gift baskets.

There are many items that we may use i.e. gift certificates/cards, wine, alcohol, scented candles, baked goods, coffees, oils, chocolates, teas, and other gourmet foods, sports, pet items, tickets to events, etc. You get the general idea.

In addition to baskets, we also need various other containers that may be used to display/create those ‘one-of-a-kind’ gift packages … so look around and see if you have anything that you think we may use.

In order to have time to organize and set up the auction items, we do ask that all items be dropped off at the Possum Point Theater by Monday, Nov. 30. If you are available for set up and/or to volunteer to assist with the actual auctions, please contact Chuck and Ellen at ellen@getbluesky.com.

While we realize there is a lot of work in accomplishing this task, supporting this fund raiser for the Possum Point Players will be both fun and rewarding.

In coordination with this event, we will be decorating the Green Room in holiday splendor and will be using this same theme when decorating our auction items.

Attached are two letters that you will find useful in securing donations for the auction . . . a letter soliciting donations for the auction and a letter of thanks indicating the value of the items donated. The second letter states that we are a 501-3(c)non-profit organization, and as such, all donations for this auction are tax deductible.

Please reach out to local businesses and ask them to support the Possum Point Players.  Since all donors will be listed in our show program, please let them know that by making a donation to this auction, they will also be advertising their business.
