River Soccer Club offers soccer program for kids with special needs

ROXANA – TOPS – The Outreach Program for Soccer – offered at the River Soccer Club will begin the spring sessions on Saturday, April 1.

The program is designed for kids ages 4-19 with special needs.  There are eight weekly one-hour sessions from noon until 1 p.m.

TOPSoccer is a community-based training and team placement program for young athletes with disabilities, organized by youth soccer association volunteers.

It is designed to provide the opportunity to learn and play soccer to any boy or girl, who has a mental or physical disability.

TOPS players are paired with a BUDDY, a high school/middle school youth who volunteer to assist their player with activities. Instruction sessions follow a structured format and focus on having fun.

There is a $20 registration fee to cover cost of shirt/ball for each play, which can be waived on a needs basis.

River Soccer Club is located at 32221 Gum Road, Roxana.
