IR boys’ lacrosse drops 11-6 road match-up at Lake Forest

FELTON — At Lake Forest Wednesday, March 28, Indian River dropped to 1-1 on the season with an 11-6 loss to the Lake Forest Spartans.

Knotted 3-3 at halftime, Lake Forest used a six-goal third quarter to pull ahead 9-5 heading into the fourth.

With a seven-goal game from Lake senior Carter Kenton, Lake pulled away with the 11-6 Henlopen South victory to earn its first win of the season.

The loss dropped IR to 1-1 on the season. The team’s win was a 13-1 victory over Sussex Academy at home Monday night.

Juniors Jack Martin and Reed Klemkowski each scored a pair of goals for IR, while sophomore Dylan White and senior Wyatt Kovatch each added one goal apiece for the Indians.

Junior Zach Schultz added a pair of assists for IR.

Next up for IR is a home game against Dover High Friday, April 6 at 5:30 p.m.
