IRSD hosting free college financial aid workshop this week

DAGSBORO – Indian River School District is partnering with $tand By Me to offer a free financial aid workshop for students and their families to promote college awareness and enrollment.

Every year, talented Delaware students do not apply to college because they think they cannot afford it.  Through this workshop, participants will learn that financial aid of all varieties is more accessible than ever before and, with a little pre-planning, families will find that college is within their reach.

The Paying for College workshop will be held Tuesday, Sept. 26 at 6 p.m. at Indian River High School.  The same presentation will be offered in Spanish on Thursday, Sept. 28 at 6 p.m. at Sussex Central High School.

This workshop is aimed at helping families understand the financial aid process and secure cash for college.

Students and their families can register for the workshop at www.irsd.net or by calling Michele Murphy at 732-1522.

To schedule an appointment for help with your FAFSA or financial aid forms, please call $tand By Me at (302) 255-9621 or visit www.collegefundingproject.org.
