DAGSBORO – Radio listeners have tabbed Indian River High School English teacher Michelle Peeling the Best Teacher On Delmarva” Contest in a contest sponsored by Midway Chevy Cadillac in Pocomoke, MD and 103.5 & 106.1 The Vault.

Surrounded by Indian River High School students are (center, from left): Indian River Principal Michael Williams, winning teacher Michelle Peeling and morning show co-host Brian K. Hall from The Vault.

During the month of August, The Vault encouraged listeners to email in submissions of a teacher on Delmarva who goes above and beyond in the classroom to inspire their students to succeed.

From all the submissions, five finalists were selected and their stories were posted on The Vault’s Facebook page. Listeners were encouraged to vote for their favorite entry.

Ms. Peeling, who is celebrating her 30th year in teaching, was the winner by a wide margin of the five finalists.

As the winner, Peeling received a new HP laptop computer and a check for $100 to use for school supplies.
