Woman arrested, another sought in April 6 Bodie’s Dairy Market robbery

GEORGETOWN – Town of Georgetown police Thursday arrested one women and are seeking another in connection with the April 6 armed robbery at Bodie’s Dairy Market.

Glenna Lewis, 35, of Ellendale, was jailed at the Sussex Correctional Institution in lieu of $42,000 secured bond, according to Georgetown Police Department spokesman Sgt. Tom Tyndall.

Police charged her with robbery first degree, conspiracy second degree and possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony.

Arrest warrants are on file for a second suspect, Rebecca Bennett, 34, of Milford, Sgt. Tyndall said.

Investigation by Georgetown police revealed at about 8:55 p.m. on April 6 a female entered the store armed with a knife and demanded money from the employee. The woman fled with an undisclosed amount of cash and was seen entering a silver van.

Thursday, Ms. Lewis was interviewed by detectives. During the interview she subsequently confessed to her involvement in the robbery, Sgt. Tyndall said.
