Two injured in crash near Millsboro

MILLSBORO – Delaware State Police report two people were injured, one critically in a two-vehicle crash Tuesday morning near Millsboro.

The crash occurred at about 8:10 a.m. at the intersection of Cross Keys Road and Phillips Hill Road involving a Jeep Cherokee operated by a 32-year-old Salisbury man and a Chevrolet Silverado driven by a 41-year-old Millsboro man.

State police investigation determined the driver of the Cherokee traveling eastbound on Cross Keys Road failed to stop at the stop sign. The Jeep entered the intersection into the path of the Silverado that was northbound on Phillips Hill Road.

The driver of the Cherokee was transported to the Christiana Hospital with critical injuries, state police spokeswoman Master Cpl. Melissa Jaffe said.

The operator of the Silverado was transported to Nanticoke Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.

Neither driver was properly restrained, Cpl. Jaffe said.

Roadways were closed for approximately three hours while the crash was investigated and cleared.

No charges have been filed.  The crash investigation is continuing.
