Two charged with murder in Aug. 24 shooting

BRIDGEVILLE – Delaware State Police have charged two persons with first-degree murder in the investigation of an Aug. 24 shooting incident that resulted in the death of a 19-year-old Bridgeville man.

Preston W. Nailor, 35, of Georgetown, and Brooke L. Squatrito, 20, of Bridgeville, were both arrested on Friday, Sept. 29 after investigation revealed Squatrito set up a purported drug deal with Tyron Lake for the purpose of helping Nailor rob Mr. Lake, according to state police spokesman Master Cpl. Gary Fournier.

Once Nailor and Mr. Lake met alone at the predetermined location, Nailor entered Mr. Lake’s passenger seat to conduct the drug deal when gunfire was exchanged between the two, resulting Mr. Lake’s death.

Preston Nailor then dialed 9-1-1 to report that he had been shot, according to state police.

State police charged Nailor and Squatrito with murder first degree, attempted robbery first degree, two counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and conspiracy second degree.

They were both arraigned and remanded to the custody of the Delaware Department of Correction, Nailor on $1,182,000 cash bond and Squatrito on $652,000 cash bond, Cpl. Fournier said.
