Two arrested in Royal Farms robbery

BLADES – Acting on tips, Delaware State Police arrested two people involved in the Aug. 9 robbery of the Royal Farms in Blades.

Ashley N. Stephens, 27, of Georgetown, and David A. Morris, 33, of Seaford were arrested following a traffic stop in the Seaford area around 6 p.m. Aug. 9.

Information on the suspect and vehicle description were sent out to media outlets and social media following the robbery which occurred around 2:23 a.m. on Aug. 9.

A trooper from Troop 5 spotted the 2009 Hyundai Sonata registered to Ashley Stephens and performed a traffic stop. In addition to Ms. Stephens and Mr. Morris, Ms. Stephens’ 2-year-old daughter was in the vehicle.

Investigation at Troop 5 revealed Ms. Stephens drove Mr. Morris to the Royal Farms with her daughter in the car at the time of the robbery, state police spokesman Master Cpl. Gary Fournier said.

State police charged Mr. Morris with Robbery 1st, Wearing a Disguise During the Commission of a Felony, Conspiracy 2nd, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.  He was arraigned and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $55,000 secured bond.

Ms. Stephens was charged with Robbery 1st, Conspiracy 2nd, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. After arraignment she was committed to Delores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution on $22,000 secured bond.
