Troopers seeking suspect in Milton area shooting

MILTON – Delaware State Police are seeking the suspect involved in a roadway shooting Tuesday in which a 23-year-old Milton man was injured.

Preliminary investigation determined the incident was reported at approximately 8:08 p.m., Jan. 9, when troopers were dispatched to a local hospital about to a reported shooting, state police spokesman Master Cpl. Melissa Jaffe.

The incident was reported to the state police by the hospital emergency section staff.

The incident is alleged to have occurred between 5:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. While walking on the roadway in the area of Fisher Road and Hudson Road, the man sustained a single gunshot wound to his lower extremity, Cpl. Jaffe said.  The man was transported to a local hospital by a personal vehicle where detectives spoke with him. He was treated and later released.

The suspect is described as a black male approximately 6-0 tall, 180 pounds with a full beard, wearing a dark colored hoodie, blue jeans and driving a black 4-door passenger car.
