Train tragedy: All three persons identified by Georgetown police

GEORGETOWN – Town of Georgetown police have identified the woman killed and the two men critically injured early Sunday morning when they were struck by a train while apparently lying on the tracks.

Cecilia Vincencio-Cruz, 33, of Georgetown died from injuries she sustained, said Georgetown Police Department Det. Joey Melvin.

Roblero-Ortiz 29, and Mario Niz-Lopez, 25, both of Georgetown remain listed in critical condition at Christiana Hospital, Det. Melvin said.

Preliminary investigation has revealed that all three victims were lying on the railroad tracks at the time they were struck by the Carload Express train near the 600 block of North Bedford Street.

The incident occurred Sunday, Sept. 16 approximately 12:44 a.m.

While not confirmed, alcohol is possibly a factor in this incident, Det. Melvin said.

No charges have been filed.
