Traffic stop leads to drug arrest

GEORGETOWN – Town of Georgetown police arrested a New York man Saturday after he was found to be in possession of over two pounds of marijuana during a traffic stop.

Yu Jiang, 39, of Flushing, NY was arrested for possession of marijuana, possession of with intent to deliver, and possession of a controlled substance.

Jiang was arraigned and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in lieu of $11,000 secured bond, Georgetown Police Department spokesman Det. Joey Melvin said.

The incident occurred March 31 at approximately 2 p.m. Georgetown Police on patrol on Dupont Boulevard observed a white Audi commit a traffic violation.

After officers stopped the Audi and contacting the operator, the vehicle was searched. During the search, officers found approximately 2.25 pounds of marijuana.
