Town, state police probing Georgetown apartment complex shooting

GEORGETOWN – Georgetown Police, with the assistance of the Delaware State Police, are investigating a shooting that occurred Saturday night at the Dunbarton Oaks Apartment Complex.

At approximately 10 p.m., Nov. 7, police were summoned to the area of the 1000 building for the report of a “shots fired” complaint.

Upon arrival, police learned that a male subject – identified as  24-year-old Deandre Abbott of Temperanceville, Va. – had been shot and the unknown suspect had fled the area, according to Georgetown Police Department spokesman Lt. Lawrence Grose.

The shooting victim was initially transported to the Beebe Medical Center and then transferred to John Hopkins Shock Trauma Unit in Baltimore, where he was listed in critical condition.

No further suspect information was available, Lt. Grose said.
