Suspect sought in armed robbery of Delmar liquor store

DELMAR – Delaware State Police are on the lookout for the masked, armed gunman who robbed a liquor store in Delmar Saturday night.

The robbery occurred at Low Price Liquors on Sussex Highway at about 8:45 p.m., according to state police spokesman Master Cpl.  Michael Austin.

Investigation revealed right after the 39-year-old store employee locked the door at closing, the masked suspect with a handgun forced him back into the business and ordered him to open the cash register.

The suspect took an undisclosed amount of cash and a bottle of liquor and fled, Cpl. Austin said.

The employee was not injured.

State police say the suspect is a black male, about 6-0 tall with thin build. He was wearing all dark clothing, including a facial covering and had a black handgun.
