State police seeking Georgetown man wanted in December 2017 crash

GEORGETOWN – Delaware State Police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating 23-year-old Keith R. Jones of Georgetown, wanted on vehicular assault and traffic charges stemming from a single-vehicle crash last December.

The incident occurred December 10, 2017 when troopers were dispatched to Oak Orchard Road at Nelsa Lane, Millsboro for a crash involving a vehicle that had struck a tree.

Troopers discovered that the driver, later identified as 23-year-old Keith R. Jones of Georgetown had fled the scene.

A passenger in the vehicle, a 22-year-old man, was trapped. He was extracted and transported to the Beebe Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.

Jones was soon located at a residence on Basin Road.  Jones had sustained injuries as a result of the crash and was transported by EMS to the Beebe Memorial Hospital and admitted.

Upon Jones’ release from the hospital, troopers have been unable to locate him, state police spokeswoman Master Cpl. Melissa Jaffe said.

Jones currently has active warrants out of Troop 4 for vehicular assault first degree, driving a vehicle under the influence-third offense, leaving the scene of a collision, driving while suspended or revoked and other traffic related offenses.
