State police probing Millsboro area convenience store robbery

MILLSBORO – Delaware State Police are seeking a black male suspect in connection with a robbery Tuesday evening of the Shell Food Mart convenience store on State Route 24.

The incident occurred around 9:07 p.m. Nov. 7, said state police spokesman Master Cpl. Melissa Jaffe.

Preliminary investigation revealed as a man armed with a sharp instrument entered the convenience store, formerly known as the Dash In, located at 24851 John J. Williams Highway.  He approached the clerk at the counter and demanded cash from the register. The employee complied and after taking an undisclosed amount of cash the suspect fled in an unknown direction.

The clerk was not injured.

Suspect description is a black male approximately 5-5 to 5-6 tall, wearing dark colored clothing. No further physical or clothing description was available.

No surveillance photos were available, Cpl. Jaffe said.
