Stabbing suspect sought by Laurel police

LAUREL – Laurel police are seeking the suspect in a stabbing at the Hollybrook Apartment Complex Sunday night.

Investigation revealed a man was walking his dog outside the apartment building when he was approached by a black male.

An argument ensued during which the black male suspect stabbed the man twice in the lower torso, according to Laurel Police Department spokesman Christopher Story.

The incident occurred at about 9 p.m.

The victim was taken to Nanticoke Memorial Hospital for treatment of the wounds.

Laurel police identified the black male with a possible name of Wayne Edwards of Salisbury.  A check of the area was conducted, but the suspect was not located.

The suspect was observed operating a 2007 black Ford Fusion with tinted windows and a Delaware registration. Police believe he could be in the Salisbury area or the Laurel area and should be considered armed and dangerous.
