Selbyville man arrested on drug charges

SELBYVILLE – Sussex County Task Force detectives arrested a 26-year-old Selbyville man last Thursday after authorities found him to be in possession of cocaine.

Donte A. Goodman, wanted on two court capiases, was apprehended after he attempted to flee state troopers and probation officers after he exited the McDonald’s on Lighthouse Road, state police spokesman Cpl. Gary Fournier said.

Upon searching Goodman on scene, detectives located 27.7 grams of cocaine.  In a subsequent search of Mr. Goodman’s residence in the 37000 block of Appaloosa Drive, authorities located drug paraphernalia and three .22 caliber rifles.

Mr. Goodman was charged with possession of a controlled substance in a Tier 5 quantity (cocaine), possession with intent to deliver cocaine, three counts of possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, resisting arrest and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia. He was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $28,000 cash only bail.
