Seaford: Wanted suspect nabbed after brief chase

SEAFORD – A Seaford man with outstanding warrants was arrested and jailed on drug and other offenses after he was taken into custody Sunday, July 15 by Seaford city police following a traffic stop and a brief chase.

Donald White Jr., 24, faces charges of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, resisting arrest and possession of marijuana. He was committed to the Department of Corrections in lieu of $384,200 cash.

White was also committed to DOC with a $50,000 cash bail for one of the Sussex Superior Court warrants and held without bail on the second Superior Court warrant.

According to Seaford Police Department spokesman Cpl. Eric Chambers, Seaford police observed Donald White Jr. operating a motor vehicle on Chandler Street in Seaford. White had two active warrants for his arrest out of Sussex Superior Court.

As a traffic stop was being conducted White fled but eventually was taken into custody.

A search of White revealed 31.6 grams of marijuana and $673, which was seized as suspected illegal drug sales proceeds.

A search of the vehicle White was operating revealed an additional small amount of marijuana, a digital scale and a loaded firearm.
