Seaford: Wanted suspect arrested on drug, firearms charges

SEAFORD – City of Seaford police report the arrest of a wanted subject on assorted drug and firearms charges.

Davion Lewis, 18, of Seaford was apprehended Tuesday morning following a brief chase after officers spotted him while searching the area of Chandler Heights apartments, Seaford Police Department spokesman Lt. Glenn Van Fleet said.

During a search of the defendant, police found he was in possession of a loaded 9mm pistol that was reported stolen with an obliterated serial number, 428 bags of heroin, and a bag of marijuana.

A computer check revealed that Lewis had five outstanding warrants for his arrest, Lt. Van Fleet said.

Police charged Lewis with possession of a controlled substance, heroin–Tier 2 quantity; possession of marijuana other than personal use; possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony; possession with intent to deliver heroin; 11 counts of possession of a firearm or ammunition by a person prohibited; receiving a stolen firearm; resisting arrest; possession of drug paraphernalia; possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number; carry a concealed deadly weapon.

Lewis was arraigned and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution in lieu of bond pending preliminary hearing.
