Seaford: One person found dead in house trailer fire

SEAFORD – Firefighters discovered a deceased person inside a house trailer heavily damaged by fire Tuesday evening.

The blaze, reported shortly before 7 p.m., occurred in the 29000 block of Watson Lane west of Seaford near the Maryland state line, according to Assistant State Fire Marshal Michael G. Chionchio.

Seaford Volunteer Fire Department found flames engulfing the house trailer upon arrival.  Firefighters found the victim inside the trailer after the fire was extinguished, said Mr. Chionchio.

The Delaware Division of Forensic Science will conduct the autopsy on Wednesday, Mr. Chionchio said.

Heavy fire damage was estimated at $50,000.  There were no other reported injuries.

The fire is under investigation by the Delaware Office of the State Fire Marshal to determine the origin and cause.
