Seaford Police Department spokesman Lt. Glenn Van Fleet said Wise hid in the attic in efforts to prevent apprehension. After about an hour, Wise gave up and was taken into custody.

Officers observed drugs, paraphernalia and ammunition in plain view within the suspect’s residence, Lt. Van Fleet said.

Wise was charged with possession of a controlled substance (heroin-Tier 1 quantity), possession of marijuana, three counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of ammunition by a person prohibited and resisting arrest.

Wise was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in lieu of $4,500 cash bail, Lt. Van Fleet said.
