Seaford man killed in Nine Foot Road crash

MILLSBORO – Delaware State Police are investigating a motor vehicle crash Friday night that claimed the life of 26-year-old Jesse J. Hendrix of Seaford.

According to state police spokesman Master Cpl. Michael Austin, the single-vehicle crash occurred at about 9:53 p.m. Feb. 2 on Nine Foot Road (SR 26) just west of Revel Road.

Investigation revealed Ms. Hendrix was operating a 2015 Dodge Dart at an apparent high rate of speed when he lost control on a curve. The vehicle left the roadway and when Mr. Hendrix over-corrected, the vehicle entered a ditch and overturned several times.

Mr. Hendrix, the only occupant, was pronounced dead at the scene, Cpl. Austin said.

Mr. Hendrix was not properly restrained, state police investigation revealed.

Possible impairment is unknown at this time, Cpl. Austin said.

Nine Foot Road was closed for approximately 2 1/2 hours while the crash was investigated and cleared.
