Rehoboth man charged in multiple burglaries

MILLSBORO – Delaware State Police on Tuesday arrested a 40-year-old Rehoboth Beach man identified at state police as the suspect in multiple burglaries in Millsboro and Lewes areas.

The incidents occurred during the week of July 9 in the overnight hours, state police spokeswoman Master Cpl. Melissa Jaffe said.

Investigation revealed the suspect entered and took undisclosed amounts of cash at the following locations: Lullibi Daycare; Mother Goose Daycare; Simply at Home Dog Kennel; Lotus Blossum Learning Center; Millsboro Daycare; The Rookery; The Ridings at Rehoboth; Waves Car Wash

Through investigative measures, troopers identified the suspect as David A. Honeycutt of Rehoboth Beach.

On Tuesday, July 17, Honeycutt was apprehended at his girlfriend’s residence in the Ridings at Rehoboth development without incident. Honeycutt was taken to Troop 4 where he is currently being charged with three counts of burglary third degree, felony theft, misdemeanor theft, three counts of criminal mischief and two counts of attempt to commit theft.

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are forthcoming, Cpl. Jaffe said.
