Molotov Cocktail? Seaford police investigating reported arson attempt at church

SEAFORD – City of Seaford police are asking for the public’s assistance in their investigating of a reported attempted arson at a church.

Police Monday, Sept. 3 were called to the Miracle Revival Center Church in the 800 Block of Sussex Avenue. The pastor of the church had discovered the glass broken from a doorway when he arrived earlier, and inside the church a Molotov Cocktail-style devise was found on the floor.

“This device appeared to have extinguished itself prior to causing any damage,” said Seaford Police Department spokesman Senior Cpl. Eric Chambers.

This incident is believed to have happened between 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 2 and 11:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 3, Cpl. Chambers said.

Seaford Police Department asks anyone who may have witnessed anything, observed any suspicious activity in the area or has any information pertaining to this investigation to contact them at 629-6644 ext. 236.
