Millsboro Police Department holding Business Police Academy

MILLSBORO – Millsboro Police Chief Brian Calloway announced the revival of Millsboro Police Department’s Business Police Academy, which will be commencing October of 2018.

The Business Police Academy is based on the same principles as the much-celebrated Citizen’s Police Academy, which transpired in 2016.

However, this course has been crafted around the interests of local businesses.  Participants in this program will learn steps on how to avoid becoming a victim of a crime and get an inside look on how crimes are investigated.

Each week will feature a variety of presentations from entities such as: the Better Business Bureau, Department of Justice, Alarm Engineering, and of course the Millsboro Police Department.

Topics will include: Communication Issues with Businesses; Your Case in the Criminal Justice System; Overdose Survival Education; Commercial Alarm System Benefits; Criminal Investigations & Crime Scene Preservation; Current Scam and Fraud Trends in Delaware and How to Avoid Them; Shoplifting and Your Business and CRASE: Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events

This course will be hosted at the Millsboro Town Hall facility on the following dates:

Week 1: Introduction to Business Academy, Oct. 23, 6 p.m.

Week 2: Police Operations and Legal Process, Oct. 30, 6 p.m.
