Millsboro police: Bridgeville man arrested for eighth DUI

MILLSBORO – Town of Millsboro police arrested a 55-year-old Bridgeville man Wednesday after he was found to be driving under the influence of alcohol for the eighth time.

According to Millsboro Police Chief Brian Calloway around 6:30 pm Dec. 27 as a Millsboro officer on patrol observed a red Ford F-250 traveling on Delaware Avenue with an invalid vehicle registration.

The officer performed a traffic stop and upon contacting the operator, identified as Charles R. Alsentzer, an odor of alcohol was detected, and a DUI investigation ensued.

Alsentzer was taken back to the station where a computer check revealed he had seven previous DUI convictions.

Along with the DUI offense, Alsentzer was also charged with driving while suspended and revoked and failing to transfer vehicle registration.  He was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $10,501 secured bond after being arraigned at Justice of the Peace No. 2.
