Millsboro man killed in crash north of Georgetown

GEORGETOWN – Delaware State Police are investigating a two-vehicle crash Monday night in which a Millsboro man was killed.

State police spokesman Cpl. Gary Fournier said Joshua T. Fleming, 37, died in the crash involving a pickup truck and a truck tractor at the intersection of Wilson Road and Downs Road.

Investigation revealed Mr. Fleming was southbound on Downs Road in a 1995 Ford F-150 pickup when he failed to stop a stop sign. His vehicle entered the intersection where it was struck by a 2011 International truck tractor operated by John m. Clayville, 45, of Milford, that was westbound on Wilson Road. The tractor is owned by Perdue.

The crash occurred at about 9 p.m.

Mr. Fleming was properly restrained and extensively trapped in the truck.  He was pronounced dead at the scene, Cpl. Fournier said.

Mr. Clayville, who was properly restrained, was transported to Bayhealth Milford Memorial Hospital where he was treated and released with no reported injuries.

The Collision Reconstruction Unit is continuing their investigation into this incident.  Wilson Road was closed at Downs Road for approximately three and a half hours while the crash was investigated and cleared.
