Millsboro man injured in scooter crash

LONG NECK – Delaware State Police say a Millsboro man sustained serious injuries in a scooter crash east of Long Neck Tuesday afternoon.

Kevin P. Phillips, 35, was operating a 2015 Bantam Bashan Sport 50 scooter westbound on the shoulder of John J. Williams Highway in the area of Eagle Lane, state police spokesman Cpl. Gary Fournier said.

Investigation revealed the scooter slid as it ran over some tree branches on wet roadway.

Mr. Phillips, who was not wearing helmet, was transported by EMS to Beebe Healthcare and admitted in critical condition, Cpl. Fournier said.

The crash occurred at 5:24 p.m.

State troopers are continuing their investigation into this incident and ask that anyone who may have witnessed the crash to contact Cpl/1 W.
