Man’s body found in Broadkill River

MILTON – Delaware State Police are investigating the death of man whose body was found floating in the Broadkill River Saturday afternoon.

At about 12:42 p.m., a couple boating in the Broadkill River near Oyster Rocks Road discovered an empty kayak, a cooler and then a body floating in the water, state police spokesman Master Cpl. Gary Fournier said.

State police, Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control Fish and Wildlife officer and fire personnel responded to the area where the body was found.

The body was turned over to Delaware Division of Forensic Science to confirm the deceased man’s identity and conduct an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death. Cpl. Fournier said.
