Man shot at residence in Lincoln

LINCOLN – Delaware State Police are investigating the shooting of a 24-year-old male at a residence late Saturday night.

According to state police spokesman Cpl. Jeffrey Hale, the shooting occurred at approximately 11:02 p.m., as four male suspects entered a residence located in the 21000 block of W. Mayhew Drive, Cedar Creek Estates in Lincoln.

At that time, a 24-year-old male, who was present in the home at the time, was shot in his lower extremity, police investigation revealed.

The four male suspects fled from the residence after removing undisclosed property from inside. The shooting victim was transported to the Milford Memorial Hospital where he was treated and released.

Detectives do not believe that this was a random act, Cpl. Hale said.
