Man hospitalized following Coverdale Crossroads shooting

BRIDGEVILLE – Delaware State Police say a 39-year-old man sustained non-life-threatening injuries in a shooting in Coverdale Crossroads Monday morning.

The shooting was reported around 9:44 a.m. Oct. 30 when calls regarding gunfire on Mill Park Drive were received by the Sussex County Emergency Operations Center.

A short time later, the male victim was taken to an area hospital by personal vehicle, with several gunshot wounds to his upper torso, state police spokesman Master Cpl. Melissa Jaffe said.

Detectives contacted the victim at the hospital. He was admitted and treated with non-life-threatening injuries.

There were no suspects as of Monday afternoon, Cpl. Jaffe said.

This incident remains under investigation by the Delaware State Police Major Crimes Unit.
