Lincoln: Suspects sought in robbery, assault of mother and son

LINCOLN – Delaware State Police are seeking two suspects who robbed and assaulted a mother and her son in front of their Lincoln area home Friday evening.

The incident occurred at approximately 8:15 p.m. on Nov. 10 at a residence in the unit block of Swiggetts Mill Road, Lincoln, according to state police spokesman Master Cpl. Michael Austin.

Investigation revealed a 27-year-old man and his 44-year-old mother were standing in the front yard of their residence when two subjects approached them and initially assaulted the man.

During the assault the suspects removed the man’s wallet which contained an undisclosed amount of money. The mother attempted to intervene and was also assaulted.

The suspects fled with the man’s wallet on foot toward Fleatown Road. Master Cpl. Austin said.

Both victims were treated at Milford Memorial Hospital for minor injuries and released.

The suspects are described as males, wearing all dark clothing, with faces covered.
