Laurel Dollar General hit again by armed robber

LAUREL – Town of Laurel police are investigating the armed robbery of the Dollar General on Sussex Highway Thursday night – the second robbery of that store in the past month.

According to Laurel Police Department spokesman PFC Christopher Story, at 9:45 p.m. a white male wearing disguise entered the store, displayed a handgun and demanded cash.

Store employees followed instructions and after obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash and property, the suspect fled the store in an unknown location, PFC Story said.

Laurel Police Department, Delaware State Police and the Wicomico County K9 unit checked the area, but nothing was found.

Police said the white male suspect was wearing a black hooded sweat shirt, dark jeans, and dark sneakers.

The same Dollar General store was robbed on Nov. 22 by what appears to be the same suspect, according to Laurel police.

Anyone with information regarding these incidents or possible information regarding the suspect is asked to contact the Laurel Police Department at 875-2244 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-847-3333.
