Greenwood couple arrested after cocaine Investigation

GREENWOOD – Delaware State Police arrested a Greenwood couple Thursday following a two-month investigation into illegal drug sales from a residence on Mill Street.

Members of the Sussex County Drug Task Force with the assistance of the Greenwood Police Department and Sussex County Governor’s Task Force conducted a search warrant in the 400 block of Mill Street and Donald Carey, 26, and Carla M. Dyer, 31, were taken into custody without incident.

The search revealed 80.74 grams of cocaine, 0.7 grams of marijuana and over $2,900 in suspected drug proceeds, said state police spokesman Cpl. Gary Fournier.

Three children of Ms. Dyer (ages 11, 10, and 7) were in the house and were turned over to the custody of a relative.

Authorities charged Mr. Carey and Ms. Dyer were charged with possession with intent to deliver cocaine, possession of a controlled substance (cocaine), tampering with evidence, conspiracy second degree, possession of marijuana, endangering the welfare of a child and possession of drug paraphernalia.

They were committed to the Delaware Department of Corrections in lieu of secured bond.
