Georgetown woman killed in crash near Millsboro

MILLSBORO – Delaware State Police report a 22-year-old Georgetown woman died in a single-vehicle crash Monday evening north of Millsboro.

Jasmine D. Andrews was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which occurred on Mount Joy Road at about 7:30 p.m., according to state police spokesman Cpl. Gary Fournier.

Investigation revealed Ms. Andrews was operating a 2003 Ford Taurus westbound on Mount Joy Road at an apparent high rate of speed when she failed to negotiate to curve. The vehicle spun off the roadway and struck a utility pole on the driver’s side.

Ms. Andrews, who was properly restrained, was extensively trapped in the vehicle and was pronounced dead from multiple traumatic injuries.
