Georgetown police arrest suspect in business burglaries

GEORGETOWN – Town of Georgetown police have arrested a Georgetown man in connection with several businesses burglaries between Dec. 14, 2017 and Jan. 10, 2018.

Police received reports from four businesses that were burglarized and one business that was damaged during an attempted burglary, Georgetown Police Department spokesman Det. Joey Melvin said.

On Jan. 26, police arrested Gordon Dixon, 50. Dixon was charged with three counts of burglary third degree, one count of attempted burglary, four counts of criminal mischief, one count of theft over $1,500, one count of theft under $1,500, and three counts of possession of burglar tools.

Dixon was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 2 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in lieu of $25,000 secured bond, Det. Melvin said.
