SELBYVILLE – Delaware State Police arrested a 40-year-old Frankford man Saturday afternoon after drugs were discovered during a traffic stop.
Steven A. Bowen was charged with possession of a controlled substance in a Tier 1 quantity with two aggravating factors, possession of drug paraphernalia and traffic related offenses, according to state police spokesman Master Cpl. Melissa Jaffe.
Bowen was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court 3 and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $60,700 secure bond.
The incident occurred Saturday, April 7 at approximately 1:40 p.m. when a trooper saw a black Nissan Altima make an illegal U-turn on Lighthouse Road east of Zion Church Road.
During the traffic stop marijuana odor was detected, which subsequently led to a search. Further investigation revealed Bowen was in possession of 731.21 grams of marijuana, over $1,800 in suspected drug proceeds and drug paraphernalia, Cpl. Jaffe.
