Driver escapes injury as feed truck overturns

MILLSBORO – The driver of a tractor trailer escaped injury when his rig hauling a load of feed overturned Saturday morning on Millsboro Highway, Delaware State Police report.

The crash occurred about 5:38 a.m., Oct. 8, according to state police spokesman Master Cpl. Jeffrey Hale.

State police investigation revealed Joseph W. Millman, 43, of Greenwood, was operating a 2001 Freightliner tractor fully loaded full with feed northbound on Millsboro Highway approaching the intersection of Cowhouse Branch Road.

The rig drifted off of the roadway, struck a traffic sign and overturned in a ditch.

Mr. Millman, who was properly restrained at the time of the crash, was not injured. He was cited by troopers with Inattentive driving.

Millsboro Highway between Cowhouse Branch Road and Nine Foot Road was closed to traffic for approximately six hours as the crash was investigated and cleared.
