Delmar man dies in crash near Laurel

LAUREL – A Delmar, De. Man was killed Tuesday evening in a single-vehicle crash on County Seat Highway near Laurel.

The Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating the crash that claimed the life of 34-year-old Scott Adkins.

Investigation revealed Mr. Adkins was westbound in a 1995 Honda Odyssey nearing the Rt. 9 the intersection with Firetower Road when the vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree.

Mr. Adkins, the lone occupant, was pronounced dead at the scene, state police spokesman Master Cpl. Gary Fournier said. Mr. Adkins was not properly restrained, Cpl. Fournier said.

The crash occurred at about 9:40 p.m.
