Bridgeville man dies in motorcycle crash

BRIDGEVILLE – A 55-year-old Bridgeville man died from injuries sustained in a motorcycle crash Saturday night.

Delaware State Police investigation revealed Keith M. Harris was operating a 2002 Suzuki 1400 motorcycle southbound on Coverdale Road at an apparent high rate of speed when failed to negotiate a curve. In attempt to avoid an oncoming vehicle, he went off the road and was ejected when the motorcycle struck a bush.

Mr. Harris, who was not wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital, state police spokesman Cpl. Gary Fournier said.

The crash occurred at about 10:28 p.m., Cpl. Fournier said.

The Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is continuing their investigation into this incident.  Alcohol and speed appear to be contributing factors in this case, Cpl. Fournier said.
