Armed robbery attempt at ATM in Seaford

SEAFORD – City of Seaford police are investigating a reported attempted armed robbery last Friday evening.

Officers responded to the M&T Bank at 509 West Stein Highway following a complaint about an attempted robbery Friday, Dec. 15.

The incident occurred at about 8:46 p.m., Seaford Police Department spokesman Lt. Glenn Van Fleet said.

The victim informed police while attempting to withdraw money from ATM two suspects with handguns approached and demanded cash. When the victim refused to comply, the suspects fled.

Suspects are described as high school age to early 20s. They were wearing beanie caps and bandanas over their faces.

The case was turned over to Seaford Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Unit.
