Inspection of Indian River Inlet Bridge will require nighttime closures

DEWEY BEACH – Inspection of the Charles W. Cullen Bridge over the Indian River Inlet will require night-time closures.

Bridge inspection by DelDOT’s contractor, Pennoni Associates Inc., has been impacted by recent inclement weather.

Northbound and southbound closures will occur intermittently from 9 p.m., May 17 until 5 a.m. May 18.

Motorists and pedestrians should expect delays in this area.

As part of the inspection, there will be short duration closures of the entire bridge in both the northbound and southbound directions.

In the event of inclement weather, the inspection will take place on May 18 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. May 19.

Motorists should use caution in this area for bridge inspectors and the shifting of traffic. There will be one lane open to motorists in each direction between the short duration closures.
