The event will include an evening of fun, official tree lighting, singing carols, performances from members of Seaford High School and Santa Claus.

The Gateway Park Committee has been dedicated to ensuring a festive holiday season for Seaford residents for over two decades now.

A portion of their efforts are funded from the “silver bell” ornament sponsorship each year. Individuals can sponsor a bell which includes a hand written tag with their name on it, in honor of/in memory of a loved one or a message of their choice. Those bells are available for $3, $5 and $10, depending on size. Again this year, with the purchase of a bell, you will receive a set of Holiday Specs, while supplies last. They are 3D Glasses that magically change the lights on the tree.

Ornament sponsors are encouraged to place their bells on the tree during the “Silver Bells” portion of the caroling event or may elect to have it placed on the tree in advance. Bells are on display at City Hall and available for purchase prior to the event.

Collection boxes will also be available at Caroling in the Park for the City’s Community Food Drive.

Seaford Mayor David Genshaw is asking the community to support our local food drive of non-perishable, non-expired food items to be distributed to those in need through our local charities. He requests that as people come out for an evening of festive cheer, they keep those less fortunate in mind by bringing an item to place in the box and make someone’s holiday season a little brighter
