Auxiliary Unit 28 seeking volunteers to help with service project

MILLSBORO – The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 28 is looking for community volunteers to help with a 9/11 Day of Service and Remembrance to help with its service project made possible by a grant from the American Legion Auxiliary Foundation and Corporation for National & Community Service.

On Saturday, Sept. 9 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. improvements will be made to the pavilion and surrounding area at the Oak Orchard/Riverdale American Legion Post 28 in Millsboro.

Rain date is Sunday, Sept. 10.

Help is needed with general cleanup, weeding and planting flowers, power washing memorial bricks, walkway and benches.  Included are a lighting upgrade and some light painting chores.

Lunch will be provided and a free commemorative t-shirt will be available to the first 50 volunteers. Please call to register for an accurate count for food.

On Monday, Sept. 11, 2017, Unit 28 invites the public to attend the annual candle light ceremony in the pavilion to honor those heroes from 9/11 and those that continue to serve.
