Survey says! Millsboro lands responses to future use of town property

MILLSBORO – In the famous words of Family Feud gameshow host Richard Dawson … Survey says!

An outdoor amphitheater, walking/biking trails and splash pad fountain are the three most popular responses submitted by Millsboro residents in response to the town of Millsboro’s survey regarding the future use of property on the town’s western edge.

The approximate 11 acres of town-owned property is located along the south side of Laurel Road (SR 24) near the intersection with Godwin School Road.

The online survey, conducted through, was unveiled in March and closed April 30.

Millsboro Town Manager Sheldon Hudson at the May 7 council meeting announced the survey drew between 300 to 400 responses.

“We haven’t done a full analysis yet,” Mr. Hudson said. “Next month I may have a nice PowerPoint.”

The top three responses were an amphitheater, trails for walking and biking, and a splash pad.

A splash pad, Mr. Hudson explained, is basically a fountain that shoots up with little or no standing water. “Because there is zero depth there is little to no liability for the town,” he said.
