State Rep. Rich Collins will be holding two coffee hour sessions Wednesday.

The monthly “Coffee with Rich” meetings are intended to provide 41st District residents with a convenient opportunity to discuss whatever is on their minds over a free cup of coffee with their state representative.

The events are typically held the fourth Wednesday of each month, between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m., at the Pizza King restaurant (358 E. Dupont Highway).

This month, in addition to the morning meeting, Rep. Collins will also stage an evening event at Pizza King beginning at 7:30 p.m.

“I realize that not everyone who wants to participate can come in the morning, so I am holding evening events to accommodate those folks,” Rep. Collins said.

For those attending either meeting, there will be much to discuss.

State legislators returned to work Tuesday, April 21 following a two-week break.

With just eight legislative weeks remaining in the 2015 General Assembly session, the pace of activity in Legislative Hall has already started to quicken.

A bill seeking to repeal capital punishment in Delaware has cleared the Senate and will likely soon be assigned to the House Judiciary Committee. With state revenue growth lagging, issues involving state taxing and spending are also likely to become increasingly prominent in the coming weeks.

“One of the things I plan to discuss is the threat posed by the state’s new storm-water regulations and how they could hamper local farming operations,” Rep. Collins said.
