Green seeking re-election for third Register of Wills term

GREENWOOD – Lifelong Sussex Countian and Greenwood resident Cindy Green is seeking re-election for a third term as Sussex County Register of Wills.

Ms. Green, a Republican, announced her candidacy Monday.

She says she is running on her record of not raising taxes or fees and bringing the office into the 21st century.  In seeking re-election, Ms. Green notes that she kept her campaign promises for two terms and will continue to advocate for low taxes and local control.

Ms. Green supports conservative Sussex County values, advocated for her constituents and worked with legislators to prevent the state of Delaware from taking the Register of Wills office away from Sussex County.  She supports local control, keeping government closer to the people.

All estate records in the Register of Wills are now being kept electronically. This allows easy access, and protects valuable records from fire, water damage and aging.  Modernizing the office is another campaign promise kept.  Additionally, she has brought office policies and procedures up to modern legal standards.

In the 2014 election, Ms. Green drew 61.2 percent of the vote in defeating Democrat Gregory Fuller, whom she unseated in the previous election.
