Four seeking three council seats in Frankford election Feb. 3

FRANKFORD – Four candidates are seeking three council seats in the town of Frankford’s 2018 municipal election Saturday, Feb. 3.

Incumbents Pamela Davis and Edward “Skip” Ash II are seeking re-election. Velicia Ann Melson and Dawn E Marvel-Beck are also seeking council seats, which carry two-year terms.

Current council member Marty Presley, whose term expires this year, is not seeking re-election. He had informed council late last year he is planning to move and would no longer be residing in the town limits.

Ms. Melson previously served on town council. She was elected in February 2015 and resigned from council in August of 2015.

The Feb. 3 election is from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Frankford Town Hall located at 9 Main Street.

Candidate filing deadline and voter registration deadlines were Jan. 10.

To vote in this election, residents must be registered on the “Books of Registered Voters” of the town of Frankford.

Persons appearing to vote must present proof of identity and address. One or more of the following items, considered together or separately, are considered proof of identity and address of the person.  Identification will be required on election day in order to vote:

  • current State of Delaware driver’s license or ID card;
  • uniformed service ID card;
  • another current photo ID issued by the State of Delaware, U.S. Government, the voter’s employer, high school or higher education Institution;
  • current utility bill, bank statement, credit card statement, a paycheck or pay advice, or another type of bill or statement;
  • lease or sales agreement: and/or
  • any other documentation that a person can reasonably and commonly accept as proof of identity and address.
