Nanticoke Health Services’ President/CEO Steve Rose has made Becker Hospital Review’s list of 50 Rural Hospital CEOs to Know.

Mr. Rose has led Nanticoke Memorial Hospital through a health IT initiative, investing in a new electronic medical record and obtaining meaningful use level 2.

In 2013, he was elected to the board of trustees of the American Hospital Association for a three-year term beginning in 2014. He is the first Delawarean ever named to AHA’s board of trustees.

He also chaired the Southern Delaware Chapter of the American Heart and Stroke Association Board and was appointed by Governor Markell to the Governor’s Hispanic Commission.  Mr. Rose was appointed to the State of Delaware’s Commission on Early Education. He is a current member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and is active in Rotary.

Mr. Rose believes quality is something that every patient should expect.  With his leadership, today Nanticoke is among the highest quality care in Delaware as evidenced by Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) scores (federal quality guidelines) and many other independent organizations measuring patient outcomes across the nation placing Nanticoke among top quality hospitals.

Mr. Rose readily credits his Board of Directors, medical staff, employees and the commitment of the entire Nanticoke team for the success Nanticoke has experienced over the past few years.

“It’s through the hard work of everyone working toward the same goal that Nanticoke is the outstanding organization it is today,” said Mr. Rose.

Becker’s Hospital Review is a national publication featuring up-to-date business and legal news and analysis relating to hospitals and health systems. Becker’s Hospital Review reaches a qualified audience of about 18,500 healthcare leaders across the nation.
